My flu is killing me.So I slept and woke up with 6 Messengers blinking and 2 missed calls. And everybody has one question, "How is China?"Okay, so here goes. After a I-did-not-manage-to-catch-any-sleep-cos-the-TV-was-on-the-whole-time-and-I-can't-sleep-with-the lights-on 6 hour flight,we finally stumbled into the foreign soil of China, Beijing. It was morning, the wind that sliced through the air was cold, but it felt alright. My friends rushed for the rear 5-seater at the back of the bus,and they passed what we suspected to be expired bread, sausages wrapped in red plastic, milk and water bottles for breakfast. All I knew was that 9 days would be torturous, but on the second day I made up my mind that I would try to be happy, even if my days are without him.So I'll just give you guys some pictures of my trip now aye? This is one of the faculties of the Beijing Normal University. We also went to Beijing's best University for a talk on the development of China during the earlier part of the day,but I totally stoned out and started passing messages on paper.I mean, the talk was in MANDARIN! The school is so big they have a pond.Beijing is DAMN big.I'll show you what I mean later. This is the other side of it.The pond or whatever you call it. Now this is the entrance to the Forbidden City.Again,it was so DAMN HUGE.And God knows WHY it had to RAIN.): There's MAO!!Hee. It was so damn cold,I wore 2 jackets and it still didn't help.Plus I was wearing slippers,my bag and three-quarts were soaking wet.I seriously hated that day. Entrance to the Great Wall of China! This was one of my happiest days cos we managed to bargain and buy alot of stuff after we finished the walk. I seriously think they took FOREVER to build this thing. Ascending..There were just so MANY people! Descending..There were still as much people. It was definitely harder coming down cos some of the paths were really steep.Whee! But it was fun (:After we finished we decided to go shopping, and I bought this communist cap (I'll show you later),Mao's Little Red Book (YuTing, I got one for you! :D)and this gold metal thingie that said I climbed the Great Wall of China.:D Since the Olympics were coming up,it says,"One World, One Dream".Inspiring, come to think of it. I don't know why I'm thinking this, but I can't imagine them having a full-front war here. You've just GOT to check this out, this is actually a eagle's view of Beijing, made up of some kinda special metal. My phone camera didn't manage to capture the whole thing, but believe it or not, this is only Beijing, and China is just so FREAKING HUGE,I can't stand it. Another eagle's view of Beijing, except that this is on the first FLOOR,and it takes up the whole FLOOR. Just so EFFING COOL LAH. I'm stepping on you, Beijing.Muahaha. I don't know WHY we didn't get to go to the Olympic Stadium, but we visited the STRUCTURE of the stadium instead.Okay, I'll admit it's kinda cool. There is a special stadium built for every kind of sport, and this is the complex they built for swimming. It was constructed such that the outside looked like water droplets.Very creative indeed. Once again, the wood structure of Beijing in the past. This is only a tiny part. The plastic structure of Beijing now. Students of YanQing High School, they were having English lessons, and my friends and I couldn't help pointing out the mistakes in the teacher's PowerPoint slides.=\ I'm sorry! They were all very nice when we had interaction time and all.(: Students of YanQing school, they were just so cute and had millions of questions to ask. They were about thirteen years old. Since my Mandarin was sucky,Kenny answered most of their questions.I just couldn't help talking in English! Ahh.The army thingie is not their uniform, but I wish it was ours. Its so cool, right?! Whee, they are such cute people!!(((: The village I stayed in at YanQing, and I shall confess on behalf of everyone,WE ALL DID NOT BATHE costhe facilities were really..I mean,it would really spoil your appetite if I took a picture of the toilets and uploaded it here,so if you want to know how its like, ask me alright?(: That's our room meant for five people actually, but four of us stayed in there and messed up the whole place. Surprisingly, the food was good. What you see up there is actually something like steamboat, and that's my teacher's chopstick hahaha. Altogether I counted a total of twenty-four dishes.(:The rest of the pictures I took are for my project,so it's gonna be boring if I upload it here. Now for some pictures at random, yay. I don't look tired after a sleepless 6 hour flight.Took this picture when I was on the rickshaw after visiting the people living in hutongs.Hutongs means alley =)And yay my rickshaw was the one in front of everybody else's! Ooh, I'm tired happy wearing his jacket =P Kennyboy! We munched on Popcorn while we watched this really amazing acrobatic performance.Too bad I can't upload it onto my comp, but if you wanna watch it,ask me (again) ((: I so didn't get a proper picture here.Oohh,Burnout Denominator KICKASS!! :D The thing about our meals is that the lunch is not so good, but dinner ALWAYS rocks. However, this is one lunch which really made me happy, and after that we even went grocery shopping!Whee! ((: This restaurant wasn't too bad either!I managed to pour the tea in one shot for everyone cos Kenny helped me rotate the table.Hahaha,I feel so pro. The Communist cap and the little red book, haha,MUGGER!All I'm missing is the Communist uniform. My teacher got the whole set for 200RMB, which is 40SG! It's so sad I didn't buy this shirt,it's really nice and everybody wants it.PS: Thanks Kenny! THEY HAVE STARBUCKS!!!!((((: It was free and easy,so we just sat down altogether (ASL members!)and drank coffee.Love you people! See they cut watermelon until so nice sia.Stylo! The second Starbucks we went to,my friends ordered this new banana drink, and got a free toy banana, and I stole it from them, but I'm not a MONKEY!(: I got this watch for 28RMB!They sold it at Orchard Road last year (I think),but I didn't get it.Yay. Check out the MRT in Beijing.
Ivan big man siiaaa. This is one of the NICEST toilets you can ever find. Its got flowers!!Haha. Notice anything? =X How about this? Its actually a LAN shop but yeah. If you can't read-"Sorry, we can't give you a discount. It is the same price all over China."-.- And so, goodbye Beijing, the sun sets.(:"Oh lovely, don't you ever change, keep that breathless charm, won't you please arrange it?Cos I love you,and the way you look tonight."
